1. Why should I buy a casket from National Casket Gallery?

There are five good reasons to purchase a casket from us.

  • Discount pricing. You can be assured that National Casket Gallery will offer you the best price on your casket without shifting hidden costs to other services.

  • All of our caskets are of the highest quality and carry one of the best warranties in the industry.

  • You can shop from the comfort of your home. There is nobody looking over your shoulder to pressure you into making a purchase you do not want. Family members can help choose the casket without going to the funeral home.

  • We will deliver your casket directly to the funeral home when we say we will. Shipping is in 24 to 48 hours and costs $250.

  • There is no sales tax on your casket purchase. This can save hundreds of dollars.

2. Are your caskets as good as what funeral homes sell?

Absolutely. Our caskets are manufactured to our strict specifications in America and are as good or better then those sold in funeral homes. Our caskets are also backed by one of the best warranties in the industry, an 80-year warranty (see the warranty for details). The only difference between our caskets and theirs is that we can offer these caskets at 50% to 75% off of funeral home prices.

3. Will my funeral home accept a casket I purchase from National Casket Gallery?

Yes. We work with funeral homes from around the country and have good relationships with them. It is also against Federal Law for a funeral home to refuse a casket purchased elsewhere. Refusal to do so results in a $10,000 fine per incident to the funeral home and may possibly lead to the suspension of their license to operate a funeral business.

4. Will my funeral home charge me a special handling fee?

No. It is illegal for a funeral home to charge a handling fee if you purchase a casket from someplace other than the funeral home. It is also illegal for funeral home staff to make false claims about the preservative qualities of a casket.

5. What if the funeral home we use offers to match your price on the casket?

You should ask them why they did not give you their best price up front. Keep in mind that they will only lower their prices when they are forced to, as long as a lower-cost provider is in the marketplace. If they do offer to drop their price by say, 50% on their casket, you should demand a corresponding 50% discount on their total funeral service prices. It goes without saying, if their casket prices are overpriced, their services are probably overpriced also.

6. Why should I pre-plan my services?

Pre-planning ensures that your wishes are carried out at the time of death and that your family will stay within a budget you set. It relieves your loved ones from guessing as to what you would want, and it makes a difficult time just a little easier for them.

7. What if I have my arrangements pre-paid with another funeral service provider?

That is not a problem. Most State laws prohibit any funeral service provider from requiring a person to "lock in" to any particular funeral home when pre-paying for a funeral. At the time of death, simply notify us to make the necessary arrangements. The pre-paid funds will be released to the family when a certified copy of the death certificate is submitted to the bank or insurance company holding the funds.

8. If I choose to have my remains cremated, do I have to buy a casket?

A casket is not required for cremation by most states laws, but a combustible cremation container is. The container must be one that can be closed and is leak-resistant. You do not have to buy the container from the funeral establishment or crematory, but it does have to meet the standards set by the crematory. National Casket Gallery has a variety of cremation caskets and containers that are approved for use as cremation containers as well as a large selection of Urns and related products to honor loved ones remains. Also, any of our wood caskets can function as a cremation container.
