Bronze plaques are the most elegant way to honor a departed colleague. Whether placed in the lobby or above the door, they serve as a thoughtful memorial and a "thank you" to that individual who spent so much of his or her life serving the company. If one of your employees has passed, honor them and their achievements with a custom plaque.
While plaques can be made of many materials (wood and stone are common), bronze plaques are the best choice. Bronze is the customary choice for memorials because it is the most elegant material available. It also resists corrosion. Typical bronze plaques will last hundreds if not thousands of years with little maintenance. Even if the plaque is to hang indoors, choosing bronze will insure that both the plaque and the memory of the employee will live on for generations.
Cast bronze plaques come in all shapes and sizes imaginable. Almost all suppliers have a line of pre-designed plaques from which a company can choose. Many suppliers can also custom design cast bronze plaques to meet the needs of a specific situation. They can even incorporate a sculpted image of the honoree into the plaque.
Dedication plaques can be large, but be careful not too choose a design too big for your building. While the past achievements of employees, donors, and sponsors should be remembered, oversized plaques can be gaudy and overbearing. Your honoree would not want to be remembered as the person responsible for the gigantic eyesore in the building's lobby. Also, bronze is heavy. Plaques that are too large are difficult to hang without jeopardizing your building's structure.
